"Your body is your greatest teacher, I am just your guide."
The Eight Limbs of Yoga:
- Yama: Self-control or restraint from violence, lying, excessiveness, stealing, and coveting
- Niyama: Stresses things one should do—purity, contentment, austerity, study of the sacred texts, living with awareness of the divine
- Asana: Physical exercises, postures
- Pranayama: Breathing exercises
- Pratyahara: Drawing inward
- Dharana: Concentration
- Dhyana: Meditation
- Samadhi: Realization
Classical Yoga is the traditional eight fold path developed thousands of years ago and founded by Patanjali. My teaching style has not been westernized or fused or used soley for a physical body work out. I infuse my own devotion to bhakti yoga, (the yoga of devotion to god/goddess/divine) and nada yoga, (the yoga of sound) into class. We explore our relationship with our selves through these wisdom teachings.
I craft every class in a way that weaves in the wholeness of yoga, not just physical movement, but a deeper practice that nudges you to dive inward. A method designed for you to discover your inner stillness, your strength, spaces of self enquiry, healing and sometimes reclamation. An abiding practice that helps you find and return to center time and time again.
I encourage you to take your yoga off the mat, out of class, and into the world.
